What we publish, who is responsible for it, and how we correct it.

Alpha Finance publishes two kinds of thing: data, which is read from its sources under the rules in the methodology, and research, which is written by people. This policy covers the research, and the line between the two.

Who is responsible

Mike Eli, the founder and publisher, sets these standards and has the final say on what is published and corrected. Vince Dioquino, the fact checker, reviews every research article before it goes live. Both are named on the About page, and complaints about either go to the company, Block Media Pty Ltd, at hello@alphafinance.io.

Independence

Research is written for the reader. No exchange, project, partner or advertiser sees a piece before it is published, is consulted on what is covered, or can pay for coverage, a ranking position or a score. We do not publish sponsored articles, paid guest posts or press releases, and the people who write for us do not accept payment, tokens or gifts from the subjects of their work. The site's only commercial arrangements are the affiliate links described in the affiliate disclosure.

Bylines

An article carries the name of the person who wrote it, with their role. Where a piece is the work of more than one person it is bylined Alpha Finance Editorial Team, which means the people listed on the About page. The fact checker is named on every article, whoever wrote it.

Fact checking

• Before publication: The fact checker traces every figure, platform detail and regulatory claim in the draft to a primary source. A claim that cannot be traced is cut.
• Sources on the page: Each article lists its sources at the foot, with the date each one was last opened.
• Quarterly review: Articles are re-read every quarter, because fees, licences and products change. The "Updated" date on an article moves only when a person has re-read it.

Sourcing

We prefer primary documents: exchange documentation and fee schedules, regulator registers and guidance, company filings and academic papers. Market figures in research come from the same feeds the terminal reads, and the source is named. Where a claim rests on someone's estimate or model, the piece says whose.

Featured platforms and scores

Some articles carry one "Featured platform" box under the key takeaways. The link in that box is an affiliate link and is labelled as one inside the box. The platform is chosen and scored by us, using the criteria in the methodology, before any commercial conversation takes place. A platform cannot pay to be featured or to change its score. The body of an article carries no affiliate links.

The newsfeed

The newsfeed is not our reporting. It lists headlines from a fixed set of outlets that have newsrooms, published standards and a record of corrections, and every headline links to the outlet that wrote it. We do not write, edit or fact check those stories. The tone score and the story clusters are produced by fixed rules, not by a person, and a headline's place in the feed is not an endorsement of what it says.

Not advice

Research describes what the data shows and what we think it means. It is general information. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and it does not take any reader's situation into account. Block Media Pty Ltd does not hold an Australian financial services licence.

Conflicts of interest

People who write for Alpha Finance may hold digital assets. A piece that discusses an asset its author holds says so. Nobody who writes for us may trade on research that has not yet been published.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and add a dated note at the foot saying what changed. A correction that changes the conclusion of a piece is flagged at the top as well. We do not quietly delete errors. Send corrections to hello@alphafinance.io with the page address and what you believe is wrong. Faults in terminal data are handled under the methodology.

Use of AI

Writing tools, including AI, may help with drafting. They are not a source. Every published figure is checked against its source by a person, and every piece is read and signed off by its author and the fact checker before it goes out.

Alpha AI is a separate product. Its answers are generated on request from terminal data, are not reviewed by a person, and are not research. How it works is set out in the methodology.
